Movin' & Groovin'

We bought Brooks a fun little walker and he LOVES it! He has been cruising the furniture for a couple of months now and he can stand for a few second by himself, but this gives him the freedom to walk without mommy and daddy's fingers! He is still learning how to turn it so he gets stuck on walls and everything else - and of course gets frustrated sometimes. He is such a happy little kid.

9 Months!

Brooks had his 9 month photos done today! It was a very different photo session than the last three now that he is mobile and all over the place. He didn't sit still for long and was only content when moving or standing on something. We did get some great photos, especially ones of his great smile with a mouth full of little teeth!

I liked so many of the pictures that I have to put them into two blog entries :-)

Discovering New Toys

Brooks is making his way around the house discovering new and fun things to play with. He has become enamored with daddy's shoes, which are almost the same size as he is, and plants are a BIG fun thing to play with. He knows 'tree' so every time you say 'tree,' he reaches up to a tree or plant and smiles or giggles. It is really cute.

Lovin' on Brooks

Brooks' cousin Madison and Uncle Bret came over for a little while last week. Brooks LOVES his cousin Madison and she is so good with him. She is a big helper when it comes to feeding, bathing and playing with Brooks.

Stair Climber!

We were wondering when he would figure out that he can go up the stairs! Well, he has figured it out and loves to crawl up now. He crawls up almost every time we go upstairs to play or for a nap. He is getting pretty good at it too although, like his daddy, gets easily distracted, and tends to like to stop and play on the wrought iron. We are now working on getting down the stairs. I tried to teach him to crawl backwards but he prefers to scoot on his bottom...whatever works!

My Own Froggie Pool

We finally got Brooks his own little pool for the backyard. It gets so hot outside and he needs a place to cool his tootsies! He likes to swim nakie in it and play in the water spout. It is pretty darn cute!

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July! We spent the afternoon at our friends' house, Bill and Kelly Love, socializing, playing with other kids and watching daddy get really drunk and play water volleyball! The older boys even allowed a 30 minute break from volleyball so the kiddos could take a dip in the pool.  Of course Brooks was naked because that is what he likes best!

Brooks met a new friend (very cute friend), Piper Haas. They played on the dining room chair and shared some of the doggie toys (see football in Brooks' mouth).  I think Brooks might be a quarterback in training!  Anyway, he only made her cry twice - not bad. He is definitely a boy and can play a little rough, but Piper held her own!

I Love Wrought Iron

Well, like father like son right?!? Brooks is so enamored by wrought iron that it has become one of his most favorite things to play on. He likes to pull up on the stairs and walk back and forth forever. Who said kids need actual toys???
