Brooks' 2nd Birthday

TRUCKS, TRUCKS AND MORE TRUCKS! Yes, Brooks had his 2nd birthday last Sunday the 4th and the theme was TRUCKS. We decided to make a big deal of it this year and trucks was the perfect theme.

Everyone showed up around 3PM and the kids played and checked out all the decorations while the parents talked and had some food and drinks.

Around 3:30PM, the lady we hired to do songs, dancing, parachute games and balloon animals showed up dressed in a race car outfit - very cute! She turned up her music loud and led the kids through lots of songs and dances such as the hokey pokey, head, shoulders, knees and toes, ring around the rosy and the macarena. Surprisingly, Brooks joined right in and didn't look back! Lots of kids danced along and they all had a great time.

The biggest hit of the show was the very large Elmo puppet she brought along to talk to the kids. At the end of the show, all the kids received a balloon animal of their choice.

When the games and dancing were over, we brought in the cake and sang Happy Birthday! Brooks was so excited that everyone was singing to him and he couldn't wait to get his hands into the cake. The child doesn't get to eat sugar except on his birthday so this was quite the treat!

Once everyone left, Brooks took his new tricycle outside and rode up and down the sidewalk for a while. After biking, he sat down for a brief time and opened presents from family. He was so exhausted from all the commotion that he couldn't make it through all the gifts. We finished them off in the morning, and lets just say, this kid got some great loot! We are so happy so many of Brooks' friends were able to celebrate his 2nd birthday with us - WHAT FUN!
