Big Boy Bathtub

We went to the cabin last weekend and Brooks took a bath for the first time in the big bathtub. Daddy bought him a Spongebob bath mat and we added lots of toys. He loved it!

Visiting Florida

We had a great time in Florida! We surprised my uncle for his 60th birthday. We came in from Texas, Ohio and New York - almost everyone was there. We spent time at the beach and lots of time eating and catching up. It is always wonderful spending time with family, especially when everyone lives in different parts of the country and we rarely see one another.

Holding Frenzy

It was Brooks' first time to meet all the relatives on my mom's side (except for Cousin Amanda) so everyone wanted to hold him. He was a big hit but would you think anything different?!? Not only did everyone adore Brooks but I think he really loved everyone and all the attention he received!

First Beach Experience

We took Brooks to the beach - his first sand and water experience! It was VERY windy which made it a little chilly and sand was blowing in all of our faces. We stayed long enough to put a blanket down, put Brooks' feet in the water (which he wasn't fond of) and get pictures of him playing in AND eating sand. Brooks had sand in every crevasse of his body so we headed back to cousin Amanda's apartment for a bath immediately afterwards. Poor little guy was tuckered out after all the excitement!

My First Plane Ride

Brooks had his first trip on a plane and he was incredible! We went to Florida to surprise my uncle on his 60th birthday AND everyone got to meet Brooks for the first time.

I Am 6 Months Old (still)!

Just a few more adorable pictures!

I Am 6 Months Old!

I can't believe Brooks is already 6 months old! We had his pictures done, and yet again, they turned out fabulous. Well, I guess they would when your model is s
o amazing! There were so many cute ones that I had to put them into two blog entries since each entry only holds 5 pictures.

Brooks is changing so much everyday. He is EXTREMELY busy!!! He rolls around to get from place to place; however, he has finally started to scoot a bit. He is almost up on his knees. He works so hard at it and gets so frustrated. It is really cute actually. He still loves to stand more than anything else though. His legs are in constant movement - laying down, standing up, sitting and even trying to get himself to sleep. I think we are going to have our hands full for sure.
He is also talking constantly! Lots of ba ba and da da. He talks all the time - just like his mama :o)

Lovin' the Outdoors!

Sometimes I keep the back doors open and move Brooks' exersaucer outside so all of us, including the pups, can play. I work on the computer, Brooks plays and I also throw the ball to the dogs...what fun! Brooks has also discovered grass and loves to sit on it, roll around on it and pull it out of the ground. Our boy loves the outdoors as much as we do!

Messy Face

Now on to green beans which didn't start off much better than the peas; however, he likes them now. We had to mix them with a little oatmeal to trick him for a while. As you can see, he loves to get more on himself than in his mouth! Boys will be boys!!!

I DON'T Like Peas...YUCK!

So, we had Brooks' 6 month check up at the beginning of the month. As it turned out, Brooks was not gaining weight like he should have been and he dropped from the 10% - 15% in weight to the 3%. Of course I felt like a horrible mom - starving my child - but he doesn't fuss so how was I to know. No, my kid is not on a diet! So, she told me to up his oatmeal intake and come back in a week to weigh in. And sure enough, he gained a pound over the week and was finally 14 lbs!

We also got the 'go ahead' to start on veggies!!! I was so excited to start him on real food. I have made all my own baby food including peas, green beans, broccoli, squash and cauliflower - it was so much fun and SO easy!

Well, we fed him peas and it didn't go over so well. He was gagging and very unhappy. However, since then we have tried green beans, avocado and broccoli and now he likes everything, including peas...YEAH!
